Nature's Nest & A Sympathy......

What a lovely morning..... My workshop was at Sue's house this time, Thanks Sue. All the ladies had asked to make a man's card and a sympathy card as their make & take cards.

I decided to use the Nature's Nest stamp set for the Man's card. I was drawn to the dragonfly as I love to see them near the ponds on the Heathland at the back of our home. I went for Tempting Turquiose and Gable Green, I'm sure there are a ton more colourways but I liked the brightness of the Bold Brights for the wings.

The base card is brilliant Blue, half a sheet folded in half. The next layer is 10cm x 14.3cm in Tempting Turquoise (or 4" x 5 1/4"). I stamped all over with the feather image in Gable Green and the dragonfly in Tempting Turquiose. I coloured in the body of the dragonfly with the versamark pen.

The next layer is brilliant blue 7cm x 9.5cm (3 3/4" x 2 3/4"), Tempting turquiose layer is 6.5cm x 9cm (3 1/2" x 2 1/2") then whisper white is 6cm x 8.5cm (3 1/4" x 2 1/4"). The whisper white layer was stamped all over in Gable green with the feather stamp. Stamp once and then again without reinking.

The insert of the card was stamped just down one side with the same colours gable green and tempting turquiose. The sentiment is Sincere salutations.

All three layers of cardstock is flat. The dragonflies were stamping in Black stazon on a spare piece of whisper white and coloured in with the Wonder Crayons, Tempting Turquiose and Gable Green. I used the blender pens to go over the colours to mix them. They were cut out and then the Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added with the two way glue pen.
The Tempting Turquiose layer was put on at an angle and the white layer straight. Four brads were added from the Bold Brights pack. All these layers were then popped up using 3D foam pads on the back of the Brilliant blue cardstock.
The other card - Sympathy Card. Not a nice card to make at the best of time. They really do need to be a quick and simple design, so you can get it off in the post asap....
The base card is Elegant Eggplant. The paper is Rose Red designer series.
The stamp set is Close as a Memory. I used the markers to colour the seperate sections directly on the rubber, then HUFFED on the back and stamped on to Very Vanilla cardstock.

I finished off the middle with some elegant eggplant ribbon and a clear rhinestone.
The sentiment was added to the sage shadow layer in elegant eggplant. You could so easily make this a Birthday card.
I stamped the insert as well and added another sentiment from the sincere salutations stamp set.

Another sample I made using the Nature's Nest stamp set is this male card using the turtle image. Again I coloured them in using the Wonder crayons - the Earth elements this time. I used the speckle wheel along the bottom of the very vanilla layer in close to cocoa ink.
Which I also used the base card as a background.....So very quick to do lots of.

A close up of the colours, creamy caramel first and then close to cocoa......

The last sample is using the nest image. Stamped first on whisper white and coloured in using the crayons. The papers are the To the Nines Speciality papers. Gorgeous but you only need a tiny bit. The base card, Chocolate Chip was stamped all over with the feather image.

Right then the sun is out so off for a walk with Sid.
Thanks for looking,
Jenny:-)xx

  7. Jenny,
What did you stamp on the inside of the turtle card? That is where I always get stumped. The inside of your dragonfly card is stunning...I would never have thought of that! Thank you so much for sharing your ideas.
