Am I not organised or What?
I have finally mounted the Summer by the Sea stamp set and I thought that this stamp would be just perfect for my DH Valentines Card this year!
I got the colour combinations from the Scrappin Kit Round Up - Fab Colours and the beauty of these kits are the Cardstock is TEXTURED!
And of course everything co-ordinates as well.
The base card is half a sheet of Close to Cocoa normal cardstock, which I stamped 7/8ths of it with the Canvas Background stamp in the same colour ink - Clost to Cocoa.
Next I stamped the word Love from the Wonderful Words set in versamark and embossed it with Black Embossing Powder.
Next I stamped the image in Black Stazon onto whisper white and watercoloured it in with the inkpads, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, Sage Shadow and Close to Cocoa. See photos later on for description of how to paint using the inkpads.
I layered the image onto the Really Rust cardstock and pricked the top and bottom of it.
Then layered this on to some Sage Shadow textured cardstock and ran the distressing tool all around the edge......... Wonderful tool if you can't tear card in a straight line. I wished I had added some ink around the distressed part (Note: to self must try that later after Ironing!)
I added some dp from the round up kit and a few antique brads before layering this with some more Really Rust card which I distressed as well. I used the Round Tab Punch and the 1" circle punch, after I stamped and embossed the NOW & Forever sentiment - Occasional Greetings Stamp Set........... Card finished.
This is how you use the distressing tool from the Stampin' Up Cutter Kit. You just run it up and down the edge of the cardstock.
See How the edge has gone all rough -
The Cutter kit is on a key chain. It includes a Scoring Tool, Cutter Tool, Perforator Tool and the Distressing Tool.
I use it with the paper cutter so I don't have to keep changing the blades. The perforator is brilliant for making the bookmark cards and leaflets, or invitations so you can tear of a reply easy.
It comes in a plastic bag to store it in.
You can find it on P81 in the UK cattie.
Thanks for looking, Jenny:-)xx

Sorry, I also meant to say ... Stunning card. Who says Valentines cards have to be red?! x
Yes it is a stunning card. I saw it today 'in real life' and it was beautifully painted so I must get the stampin up Aqua painters. I used them in London when we went and they are certainly easier to use than the ones I have, also must get the 'tool kit' as well. Will put it on my birthday list. Keep going jenny you are an inspiration to us all.
