Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. We have been so very lazy here, recovering from the mad few weeks running up to Christmas, not much stamping was done, in fact this is the first and only project I have managed to fit in.....
Family First xxxxx
I have been looking for a desk calendar to replace my one I have been using for this year, but just couldn't find one I liked - so I made one.
I found a calendar over at Amercian Crafts web page and thought I would have a go, this is what I came up with, Pop over to their website and see all the other lovely projects they have made......
All the instructions for their calendar is on a download. I started the same as they did with a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock. This the Chocolate Chip TEXTURED cardstock in the Home Again Hostess Level 1 Free Gift for have a Workshop.
The textured cardstock is just like Brazzil Cardstock. The pack has 8 sheets in 4 colours and 6 sheets of double sided paper and 6 sheets of stickers, which are so thick - lovely set.
I cut the piece of 12x12 in half and folded one of the pieces in half again. This forms one side of the triangle base. The other piece I scored at 1" then 7" and glued all the pieces together to make a Triangle base. The top is where you glue the 1" to the first piece of cardstock. I used the Crop a Dile to make the holes in the top and through the calendar pages.
I love this new tool it sets the eyelets like butter, I have other eyelet tools that work just the same but with the jumbo eyelets nothing would set them for me, My friend Janette showed me how easy it was to set these babies so I treated myself for my new Stampin Up Workshops. I won't be waking up the neighbours now!!!
I made 6 pages and a cover in total and each page has a different month on each side. I did it like this as I wanted to use the Stampin Up Jumbo Eyelets as the calendar would be getting alot of use throughout the year.
This is the other side, the paper is so pretty these photos don't do them justice.
I made the calendar page on Excel and printed them off and layered them onto the cardstock, old olive and bordering blue, then the double sided paper, so each side was different but blended together.
I stamped on the calendar pages with Seeing Spots stamp set.
This view shows you the triangle shape of the calendar. I added some ribbon on the book rings which I got at Staples.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jenny:-)xx
