Over at Splitcoaststampers they do a thing called Featured Stamper every week - This week was Sarah Green!
You must, must pop over to her blog and see her fantastic work....
What you are meant to do is find one of the Featured Stampers Cards and make it your own! What a compliment.
I chose the one with this Dahlia on it. You can find the template for the Dahlia fold here.
It is so fun to do, like the teabag folding. I used the 1 3/8 circle punch from Stampin' Up and this was perfect. You punch out 8 circles and then follow the folds in the template.
I decided to do a criss cross card, like Sarah did for my first card. The cardstock is Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie and Apricot Appeal. I used the corner rounder to edge the criss cross. The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations stamp set.
The Designer Paper is Pumpkin Pie. The little flower in the centre is Seeing Spots Stamp set. I used the Round Tab punch to pull up the insert and the Garden Silouettes spray stamped inside. The brads are Pumpkin pie as well.
The circles are nestabilities Large set scallop and classic.
I know back to Rose Red but I just LOVE it!!!
The base card is Close to Cocoa, then Whisper White and then a piece of Close to Cocoa Designer Paper. I used the 1/2 circle punch to take out the corners and added stampin up eyelets. In the centre of the eyelets you can see a tiny pearl these are from papermania, Market Gallery.....
I made the Dahlia flower in the Rose Red Designer Paper and used the Seeing Spots sentiment circle stamp to finish off the centre. The 1 1/4 circle punch cuts this out perfectly.
I added a rectangle behind it, in Rose Red and Close to Cocoa and some Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon. The long Thank You is the Warm Words stamp set.
This is the tiny pearl in the eyelet.Look closely at the top of the card, there is a bit of fluff!
Doesn't it look like an inch worm...... Hee!
Sorry been chatting to myself too much.
Did anyone see the programme on Frogs last night? Life in Cold Blood - Wow! Frogs galore - I never knew there are so many different ones.
Thanks for looking,
Jenny:-)xx
Wow Jenny. What fantastic cards, I know you found the idea from someone else but you always manage to incorporate your own mark on any cards. I really must visit her blog when I get my punches, better still there is always this Thursday isn't there? I'm sure I could do it even if I have broken my finger.
